The resultant prosperity was leading to an increasing amount of leisure and among the various interests and activities becoming popular to fill this leisure time was the game of golf. At this time, a number of people were attempting the game informally on the lands belonging to Bushes farm on the southern edge of the town. | Winners of the Michael Daly mixed pairs were the Waltons, no not John Boy and all the gang but, Danny and Jackie. Yes last years pot hunters were back again to defend the title and this years opposition in the final was Gerry Moncrieff and Amanda Crichton. Amanda done well to keep Gerry in the game but with the game level at 2 - 2 and playing the last end it took a quality bowl from Danny Walton to win the game.
